Amy had been selected to represent the Wales U21 squad at the Junior European Championships, where they beat the Czech Republic by 3-2 in the final, securing their qualification for the 2025 Junior World Cup and the 2026 European A Division Championships.

Amy explained, “It means the world for me to be selected to represent my country for any tournament or Test series, but it is really special to represent my country at a European Championship. It’s an honour to sing the anthem and stand along my teammates in front of our friends and family.”

This follows hot on the heels of an already stunning season for Amy, who was selected to play for the Senior Women’s squad at the Euro Hockey 5s championship that took place recently. She now has 12 caps for Wales and received “Man of the Match” in their game vs Sweden after some crucial saves helping them secure a place in Amy’s first ever international semi-final. They came fourth overall after a narrow loss to Italy in the Bronze Medal Match, which took place in Poland from 2-6th July.

Amy continued, “Coming off the back of a successful season with both the University of Birmingham and Wales, my aims for the future are just to continue building on my performances this year and to enjoy playing. I’d love to continue to represent both my club and my country in the future.”

Sharing some words of wisdom for aspiring Hockey players, Amy added, “My advice for aspiring hockey players is to surround themselves with players and coaches who are willing to support them with whatever their goal may be. Dedicating time to the sport on and off the field can help you achieve anything to which you set your mind.”

Congratulations again, Amy, we look forward to seeing your Hockey career continue to go from strength to strength.
