Celebrating National Co-educational Awards Finalist News

King’s Worcester has been recognised for its outstanding co-educational provision for the third consecutive year in the prestigious Independent School of the Year Awards 2024.

The school has been named a finalist in the co-educational Independent School of the Year category, standing alongside esteemed schools such as Millfield, Ibstock, and Ballard.

Notably, King’s Worcester is, once again, the only Midlands school to reach the finals in this co-educational category.

The Independent School Awards showcase the very best of independent education in the UK, celebrating extraordinary student experiences over the past year. With over 1,000 entries from independent schools nationwide, being named a finalist is a significant achievement.

Earlier in July, both King’s Worcester and King’s Hawford were shortlisted in multiple categories. This latest recognition adds to a series of accolades for King’s Worcester, including being listed for the second year in The Sunday Times Top 10 West Midlands Independent Secondary School league and being named a Top 1% Sporting School. These honours come on the heels of a fantastic set of GCSE and A-Level results this summer.

Dr Alison Oliver, Acting Head, expressed her delight, stating, “We are extremely happy to receive this recognition as we embark on a new academic year. Having both King’s Worcester and King’s Hawford shortlisted was already a tremendous achievement, but for King’s Worcester to now be named a finalist for third time is truly exceptional. This honour reflects the unwavering dedication of our staff and the remarkable accomplishments of our pupils. Being recognised on a national stage for our inclusive, well-rounded co-educational approach is an honour, and we are incredibly proud to be part of such a prestigious category.”

The winners of the Independent Schools of the Year 2024 Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony in October. You can view the full list of finalists on the Independent Schools of the Year website.
