King’s Runners Race to Winterfold Success

Runners from across the King’s Foundation competed at in the Winterfold cross country event earlier this week, with impressive results across the board.

In the senior school, the Junior Boys and Junior Girls teams both did fantastically well. The Junior Boys came second out of the nine teams involved, with an excellent fifth place for George P-W and eighth for Oliver G; especially impressive as he was tripped in the opening stages of the race and had to fight his way back through the field.

The Junior Girls went one better to come first out of the nine teams and bring the trophy home! Nell won the individual silver medal, just pipping Thea E in the last 100m who finished with the bronze medal. All six girls in the team finished in the top 18 in a field of over 50 competitors running.

For King’s St Alban’s, the girls came third overall with Amber C taking an impressive third place in the U11 girls’ race.

In the King’s Hawford team, the children all raced with fantastic determination with Cassian finishing third in the Under 12 boys.

Well done to all our Foundation runners on their exceptional performances!
