At King’s Worcester, we combine a forward-thinking approach with deep-rooted values that provide our pupils with an outstanding preparation for life.

We foster a digitally literate environment where the future is not something we fear – it’s something we’re ready for. We provide an education that equips our pupils with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a rapidly changing digital world. Embracing new technology fits seamlessly with our ambition for all our students to leave King’s as curious, caring and confident individuals.

Microsoft as Standard

As a Microsoft school, we’ve embraced the platform used by millions in business and industry. Microsoft Teams, OneNote, and the broader Office 365 suite are embedded across all departments, helping pupils develop digital fluency that directly translates into life after school.

Our use of Microsoft Teams goes even further in its impact. When pupils are unable to attend school due to injury or serious illness, they are brought into lessons virtually, able to see and hear their teachers and peers, and remain an active part of the King’s community. It’s just one example of how technology, used thoughtfully, can provide continuity, support, and care. It helps us nurture the close, caring King’s community of which we are so proud.

King's Worcester Learning Support

Everyday Learning

At King’s, digital learning is a core part of how we teach, learn, and prepare our pupils for the world beyond school. While we remain rooted in academic excellence, our daily activities embrace the technology that shapes the modern world.

King’s is a school where innovation is happening quietly but powerfully. Every pupil is immersed in a learning environment that blends tradition with innovation, extending far beyond our IT and Computing rooms. The use of digital tools is seamlessly integrated into our academic life, with every department in our school embracing new technology to sit alongside their teaching.

In our classrooms, interactive whiteboards, screen casting tools, and educational platforms such as Firefly, Form, and OneNote are used consistently throughout the school to create engaging and interactive lessons. These tools enable teachers to deliver content effectively, provide real-time feedback, and support personalised learning for pupils.

The Computer Science department leads the way in the academic study of computing, giving pupils the opportunity to explore everything from programming, designing and data structures to artificial intelligence. Throughout the school, learning is supported through a host of apps and platforms including SOLIDWORKS, Kahoot, Canva, CorelDraw, MathsPad and SPARKvue to name but a few.

Virtual and augmented reality technologies create immersive experiences, allowing pupils to explore historical sites virtually, interact with the human body in 3D, or engage in simulated science experiments. Elsewhere, pupils annotate texts in English, produce multimedia projects in modern languages, or record science experiments to share with classmates.

Across the school, there are countless moments where our pupils come together to support each other on their digital journey. Senior pupils lead coding tutorials for younger years, Sixth Formers prepare presentations using collaborative tools and on occasions, classes join lessons virtually from different locations.

Beyond the classroom

At King’s, digital learning doesn’t stop in the classroom.

Our co-curricular programme is rich with coding clubs, robotics challenges, and cyber security groups that nurture curiosity and encourage creative exploration. Of the 130 clubs available to our pupils, many of them use the latest technology in their activities.

In the Sixth Form, a dedicated Digital Skills elective empowers pupils to think critically about the digital world, enabling them to use technology confidently and responsibly.

Embracing AI

We believe it’s vital not only to use digital tools, but to understand them. That’s why our teaching doesn’t just expose pupils to AI – it equips them to ask questions, make ethical decisions, and develop a healthy awareness of the opportunities and risks that come with the digital age. We don’t want passive users of technology; we are developing confident, discerning young people who know how to navigate complexity and change.

We are continually exploring the use of AI to enhance lessons and help pupils navigate the digital world. AI-driven platforms adapt content to each pupil’s learning pace and needs, providing personalised learning paths and efficient grading and feedback.

King’s Worcester is dedicated to being a leader in digital education, providing pupils and teachers with the tools and skills needed to succeed in a rapidly changing digital world. By integrating IT and AI across the curriculum, ensuring digital safety, and leveraging AI to streamline operations, we have created a dynamic and innovative learning community that prepares pupils for the future.
