Record-Breaking Results A-level Examination Results

Thanks to our innovative approach to learning and first-class teaching provision and support, pupils at King’s Worcester perform exceptionally well at A-level and achieve excellent results year on year.

They go on to pursue a whole range of career paths, with many securing university places at Oxford and Cambridge and other leading Russell Group Universities.

We were delighted to recognise the achievements of A-level students this past summer, as a record-breaking 93% of students achieved all their grades at A*-C. Overall, 19% of all grades awarded were A*, 46% of results secured were A*- A and 77% were graded A*- B.

These exceptional results, with the A* to C percentage being amongst the best in the School’s history, were a clear demonstration of the hard work and unwavering commitment of this year group.

A Level Results 23

This year saw the first return to normal grading since the pre-COVID year of 2019 and the subsequent impact of CAGs, TAGs or assisted grading. The outstanding resilience displayed by our students, who had never taken public exams before this summer, is truly commendable.

This year, with one of our largest ever cohorts, saw students sit 377 examinations in 24 subjects, which included 9 STEM subjects, 3 Modern Languages, 3 Arts, 2 Classics, English, Business, History, Geography, Politics, PE and Religion and Philosophy.

We are proud that the 2023 percentages for A*- A, A*- B, and A*- C are all higher than in 2019.

University Destinations

We were proud that over 85% of students obtained their first-choice university. This included five students who secured places at Oxbridge, five students who received offers for Law degrees, 14 students who received offers to study Medical or Veterinary-related degrees and 24 students who were offered Business and Economics related degrees. Other King’s students went on to study a wide range of subjects at leading institutions, such as Architecture, English, Geography, History, Maths, and Product Design.

Uni Destinations

Amongst those celebrating this summer were students Rafay S and David G, who gained places on the prestigious PWC Business, Accounting and Finance Apprenticeship, and Jude S, who will be joining Rolls Royce on their Finance and Apprenticeship Scheme. These students will gain real hands-on work experience whilst studying towards Masters’ level professional qualifications.

Few walk away on exams results day with anything other than a spring in their step – these hardworking, diligent, aspirational pupils do their parents proud year after year
