OV Appointed High Commissioner
Many congratulations to OV Paul Turner (W 77-82) who has been appointed British High Commissioner to the Solomon Islands.
Paul’s appointment is the culmination of a career that has spanned the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the World Bank and several other international organisations. He has worked in Africa, Afghanistan and the Balkans in different international roles over the last 25 years. Paul is set to take up his new post in January 2025.
Speaking of this appointment, Paul said, “It was a mix of excitement and apprehension when I heard I had been appointed as High Commissioner to the Solomons. The South Pacific is a fascinating region with huge issues linked to climate change and the geopolitics with China. Plenty to keep me busy..!”
