OV Chair

It is wonderful to hear that OV Lindsey Matthew (Cl 81-88) has been elected chair of the CFA UK Board.

CFA UK is a UK Society for members of the investment community, affiliated to the global CFA Institute, the leading global membership body for the investment profession, with a mission to promote the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence for the ultimate benefit of society.

Prior to being appointed chair of the board, Lindsey headed up the CFA UK Examinations and Education Committee, and has been on the CFA UK board since 2017.

Commenting on his appointment, Lindsey said, “I am taking over as chair of the UK Society at an exciting time. We have developed a very successful and popular qualification in ESG Investing (Environmental, Societal and Governance factors), which has become a global qualification, and are currently piloting a Certificate in Climate and Investing. Our aim here, and more broadly, is to help the investment industry contribute to a sustainable future. We organise communities of special interest groups, member events and, when possible, conferences and other live events. We also bring together investment content for members – podcasts, videos and pieces of thought leadership.”

CFA UK Lindsey Matthews

Lindsey is currently Chief Risk Officer for the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), prior to which he was Global Head of Investment Risk and Chief Risk Officer (UK) of UBS Asset Management, and a Senior Advisor to financial technology company StatPro and to UBS Wealth Management, having worked at UBS for 28 years in various roles. He holds an MA in Natural Sciences and Computer Science from the University of Cambridge and was awarded his CFA Charter in 2001.

It is always wonderful to see OVs being appreciated by their peers and professional community!
