We love hearing of OV’s achievements in their own industry fields and we were delighted to read of Drew Benvie’s (K 85-95) latest exciting news. Drew has once again been named as one of the communications industry’s most influential people. Drew made his first appearance in the annual ‘PRWeek UK’ Power Book in 2013 when he set up his communications agency, Battenhall. With this latest entry, he has now featured in the list in each of the past three years.
After Leaving King’s, Drew went on to study Business Administration at Cardiff University before starting his career in PR, where he worked solely with technology brands in the 90s and early noughties. After picking up social media when it was in its infancy, he decided to specialise, and now his company, Battenhall is ranked as the leading social media consultancy in the UK, and in the last year has expanded into the US too.
Drew told us, on picking up this accolade from PRWeek Magazine: “The last 12 months have been incredibly tough for my whole team, and for me as a business owner, but we’ve thrown everything at supporting one another and our customers and it just worked. The highlight for me in the last 12 months, alongside this award of course (!) has been the work we carried out for NHS England. My team volunteered our time, and we conceived and ran a social media campaign to promote COVID safety messages through TikTok and Instagram. The campaign is up for some global awards this month as a result, so fingers crossed for that, too.”
We have everything crossed for Drew and wish him and his team success as he takes his business forward in a post-covid world.
