OV Martin’s Marvellous Sculptures in Spetchley Park
OV and sculpture Martin Lorenz (S 45-50) will be exhibiting his work at Spetchley Park as part of Sculptures in the Gardens from Wednesday 14 August until Sunday 29 September 2024.
Martin, the creator of the wonderful bust of Henry VIII in pride of place in the Matthew Armstrong Library, is a member of the Oxford Sculptors Group. The group is staging an exhibition of outdoor and indoor works at Spetchley, where, Martin explained, “many boarders will remember ‘warmly’ as the most disliked run set by keen monitors who monitored our puny efforts on their bikes!”
Noting that visitors can now happily drive to Spetchley, you will be in for a treat with over 80 works due to be on show from over 12 artists; Martin himself will be showing 12 varied works. It is free to attend for season ticket holders and included in the gardens admissions ticket.
