OV Milly’s Remarkable Rowing Scholarship

Congratulations to OV Milly Short (W 2014–21 and Old Hawfordian), who has just completed her Chemistry degree at Iowa on a Hockey Scholarship and is now extending her stay to pursue another undergraduate degree (in Maths), this time on a Rowing Scholarship!

During her time at King’s, Milly excelled in Hockey, captaining the 1^st team. Her talent and dedication to Hockey earned her the initial scholarship to Iowa. It was her all-round athleticism and sporting spirit that impressed Iowa’s Rowing coach and led to this exciting new opportunity.

This achievement follows an outstanding Hockey career at Iowa, where Milly was named in the All-Big Ten Second Team, a prestigious honour recognising the best players from US university teams nationwide.

Speaking about her latest scholarship, Milly said: “I’m very excited to not only try my hand at a new sport but also be given the opportunity to continue my studies at Iowa.”
