OVs Eddie James (Cr 13-20) and Harrison Costello (Br 14-20) will be donning their walking boots in support of OV Ollie Gill (Cr 13-20) and in aid of The Christie Trust, on 3 July 2021.
Their target? All 186 miles of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, in one go, in 10 days. This is a particular challenge when you consider the recommended time to walk this route is 15 days, and the ascents and descents of the path are said to be the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest.
The Christie Trust is a charity that specialises in children and young adolescent cancer care. The charity hugely helped Eddie’s and Harrison’s best friend, Ollie, with a course of ground-breaking Proton therapy for his brain tumour.
Harrison and Eddie told us: “We chose the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path as we had a memorable holiday with Ollie in July last year. We are hoping to return with Ollie this year when he is fit enough to do so. The distance and hills are no comparison for the effort and battle that Ollie has faced this year.”
They said, “Any donations to The Christie Trust would be incredible as the work and help they provided for Ollie was above and beyond. We would like to let them replicate that with others who find themselves in need of help.”
