Sports Transition Event Builds Skills, Confidence and Friendships

Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic afternoon as children from King’s St Alban’s and King’s Hawford came together for their termly sports transition event last week.

Part of a series of transition events scheduled for Year 5 and 6 children, the event was a fantastic opportunity to benefit from high-quality coaching while building relationships with senior school staff as part of their King’s journey.

Pupils took part in both cricket and athletics, developing their skills through expert guidance and with the help of Sixth Form leaders.

In cricket, they focused on fielding drills before applying their learning in a game situation.

In athletics, they embraced high jump, relays, and javelin, showing great enthusiasm, teamwork, and determination throughout.

The sports transition afternoon proved to be a valuable and inspiring experience, helping children grow in confidence, build relationships with others in the Foundation and feel excited about the next steps in their King’s journey.
