Superball, Super Community!

On Saturday 9th March, the annual Superball fixture took place between King’s Worcester and RGS at the University of Worcester Arena.

The event started off with a closely contested match between the schools’ Second Teams, with King’s Worcester narrowly defeated, despite displaying some fantastic netball, with every squad member taking to the court.

During the break in the on-court action, a netball workshop was held for Year Six pupils at King’s St Alban’s and King’s Hawford. Two Superleague Players, South African superstars Lefébre Rademan and Shadine van der Merwe, made a guest appearance, much to the excitement of the girls.

It was then time for the First Team game, and the atmosphere in the arena was incredible, with a capacity crowd of family, friends, pupils and staff. King’s got off to a strong start, with through court attack flowing, shots going in and defence turning over ball. However, knowing how strong RGS were, we knew that it would be a fiercely contested match, and that they would come back strongly. There was so much talent on display, with every member of the squad taking to the court with resilience and determination.

Although RGS eventually ran out the winners, it was an amazing match and the girls impressed on so many levels: their teamwork and positivity was exceptional. We were all so proud to coach each and every one of them and they rewarded us all with such a fabulous performance. Bring on Superball 2025!
