Early Years Practitioners, King's Hawford Prep School

Are you passionate about early childhood education and looking to join an award-winning nursery? We are seeking two experienced and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioners to join the friendly and supportive team at King’s Hawford Prep School Kindergarten.

At King’s Hawford Kindergarten it is our aim to create a happy, stimulating, home-from-home environment, which will promote the learning process for all children and where friendships and confidence flourish. Outdoor learning is at the heart of everything we do, with children able to enjoy extensive use of our beautiful rural school site. Small groups of children with generous staff ratios enable us to tailor activities to each child’s particular interest whilst our extended programme of activities includes including indoor and outdoor PE sessions, music sessions, Rugby Tots, Ballet, Forest School sessions and weekly swimming lessons.

If you are an experienced Early Years Practitioner, who works well in a team, has a flair for creativity, a great sense of humour and a commitment to helping children develop and thrive, we would love to hear from you!

The role will include (please refer to the job description for full details)

  • Providing a caring and stimulating environment for the children, in line with EYFS guidelines
  • Fostering strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and inclusive environment
  • Observing and assessing children’s progress, contributing to their learning journeys
  • Being proactive in matters relating to safeguarding and child protection, and health and safety

What We’re Looking For

  • A recognised NVQ Level 3 qualification in childcare development or equivalent
  • Experience working in a nursery or early years setting and as part of a team
  • An approachable, friendly and caring nature
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Working pattern
Two year-round, permanent positions are available, working shifts scheduled between 7.30am and 6pm:
One part-time role, with a range of between 25 and 28 hours per week (plus supporting duties) and one position that is part-time to full-time, with a range of between 22.5 and 37.5 hours per week (plus supporting duties).

Start date: As soon as possible, subject to the successful completion of pre-employment checks.

Salary: £14.78 per hour

Class Teacher, King's Hawford Prep School (maternity cover)

We are seeking to recruit a full-time class teacher for a fixed term contract to provide maternity cover for a Year 6 class, commencing January 2026, at King’s Hawford Prep School.

King’s Hawford is regularly described as “one big, happy family” and we work hard to ensure that everyone is welcome, in a safe, secure, and caring environment. We provide an ethos which supports pupils, enabling their success, character development, and well-being.

Small classes and dedicated teaching staff encourage our children to reach their academic potential, whilst our co-curricular programme helps to build character and confidence.

Cleaner

We are looking for a part-time cleaner to join our hardworking and friendly evening Cleaning Team.

The role

  • Cleaning classrooms and common rooms by emptying bins and wiping down communal surfaces.
  • Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors.
  • Cleaning toilets (where required).
  • Spring cleaning when needed.
  • Notifying the Cleaning Manager of any repairs required.
  • Mixing and disposing of all cleaning solutions appropriately.

Who we’re looking for

If you are reliable, hard working, have a positive attitude and can work well in a team as well as on your own, we’d love to hear from you! The ability to handle equipment used in cleaning, alongside having a knowledge of cleaning chemicals, usage, proper storage and disposal methods is essential.

Working pattern
