Foundation Pupils Unite for Exciting Maths Challenge at King’s Hawford
Pupils from across the King’s Foundation came together for a fantastic Maths Challenge at King’s Hawford on Wednesday, enjoying a morning of problem-solving, teamwork and friendly competition.
Year 5 pupils from King’s Hawford and King’s St Alban’s were joined by Lower Sixth mathematics students to tackle a series of engaging mathematical challenges in mixed teams. The Maths Challenge provided an excellent opportunity for pupils to collaborate, share ideas and develop their problem-solving skills, while being supported by their Lower Sixth helper.
Throughout the morning, teams competed across several challenge rounds, with the highlight proving to be an energetic maths relay. In this fast-paced activity, the Year 5 pupils solved mathematical problems before racing to their Sixth Form teammates to deliver their answers, adding an extra level of excitement and competition to the event.
The morning was a fantastic example of pupils across the Foundation coming together in a fun and exciting activity, testament to the strong King’s community of which we are incredibly proud. It also served as a valuable transition opportunity for Year 5 pupils, allowing them to meet and work alongside new peers while building confidence and teamwork skills.
Congratulations to the winning teams and to all pupils who took part. Every participant demonstrated excellent collaboration, enthusiasm and determination throughout the morning, making the event a great success.
