6KB and 6DB have had an amazing few days at the Old Chapel near Crickhowell in Wales. Sleeping under canvas was a first for many of the children, as was playing hide and seek in the woods at dusk and paddling in a decidedly cold stream. One morning, the children walked up the valley and many were astounded by the sheer beauty of such an unspoilt part of the country. We played tunes on grass trumpets, learnt about some of the flora and fauna of the area and took time to just soak in the peaceful surroundings as we sat on Tal Y Maes bridge munching cake! On Wednesday we all visited Tretower Court and Castle, a beautiful Medieval house and ruins. The children took part in a treasure hunt and a couple of workshop activities. The staff at the monument commented on the impeccable manners of the pupils and were delighted with how engaged the children were. Next week sees 6HM and 6P having their chance to experience this very special place in Wales.
