Embracing the Chance to Dance.
Chance to Dance is just as it says….a chance for pupils in the junior school, to dance on a stage with lights, costumes, music and an audience! They can either show dances they have learnt previously, or they can partner up with a friend or two and devise their own dances.
Friday’s Chance to Dance was a celebration of dances from Year 5 and 6 and was held in the Wightman theatre, in the Senior School. It was lovely to see a variety of dances from modern, ballet, contemporary and tap dancing. The girls who took part were super excited and they all performed brilliantly. The Friday lunchtime dance club also presented two dances. One was a dance to celebrate the diverse nations taking part in the forthcoming football World Cup and the other dance was a Christmas dance to Josh Groban’s ‘It Came Upon a Midnight Hour’. The girls in dance club worked hard to devise their own duets for this dance. Watch this space for the next Chance to Dance.
Well done to everyone who took part and ‘Keeep Dancing!’
