IAPS Netball Finals

The girls U11 Netball team faced a long journey to Epsom on Wednesday to compete in the IAPS National Finals having qualified for the competition 2 weeks ago.

The squad set off at 2pm, and made a slight detour via Warwick to collect a couple of the team who had been competing in the ESSA gala. The girls were extremely excited and in high spirits which meant the journey down flew by.

On Thursday the squad had to play seven matches in the group stage which was a gruelling challenge, but the girls rose to it admirably. After a bit of a slow start, with an early loss of 4-3 against Perse, the team picked it back up against Little Garth (10-6) and Walthamstow (4-2) to put in two good wins.

However, they then faced a string of tough games against Bute, Bablake, Hoe Bridge and Newland and, despite the girls putting a good performance, we could not manage to secure those wins.

A huge congratulations to all of the girls who have achieved so much, and really progressed as a squad and as individuals. This was an absolutely perfect way to end a very successful season and we wish the girls every success in their future netball careers as seniors.
