Mr Hawker Meets Our New Starters
Welcoming new pupils is always a very special part of the school year, and Mr Hawker makes it a priority to spend time with them as they begin their journeys at King’s St Alban’s. These first meetings are not only an opportunity for pupils to get to know their Headmaster, but also a chance to raise questions, share their first impressions, and have any early concerns addressed in a warm and supportive way.
Mr Hawker has been enjoying time with our youngest pupils in Pre-Prep, joining lessons and sharing in their early adventures. There was great excitement on Thursday when our Reception children, while exploring beyond their classroom, stumbled across his office. After a brave knock on the door, they were warmly welcomed in and happily shared their news, with plenty of entertaining tales, especially about lunch! Mr Hawker also had the pleasure of introducing our newest pupils to Maggie, who quickly became the star of a Pre-Prep Forest School session. She was showered with attention and fuss, much to the delight of the children, adding even more joy to their first few days at school.
Our Prep pupils also had the chance to spend time with the Headmaster as part of a much-loved tradition: Hot Chocolate with the Head. Over a tasty cup of hot chocolate, pupils talked with Mr Hawker about their first experiences at King’s St Alban’s, shared stories, and asked questions. It was a lovely tradition that supported our pupils as they settled in and began building connections across the school.
