Sunshine, Success and School Records at Prep Sports Day 2026

After a week of heavy rain, there was great relief as the clouds stayed away for King’s St Alban’s Prep Sports Day 2026, with even a few welcome spells of sunshine making an appearance throughout the day.

The morning began with the field events, where pupils competed with determination and enthusiasm in discus, shot put, long jump, high jump, javelin, accuracy throw and speed jumps. Every point mattered as children gave their all for their House teams, pushing themselves to achieve their best while encouraging and supporting one another throughout the competition. Alongside the sporting action, the popular face painting station was a huge success, with pupils proudly displaying their House colours and creative designs.

Following a well-deserved lunch, attention turned to the track events. Spectators were treated to a series of exciting and closely contested races, with many events being decided by the narrowest of margins. The atmosphere around the track was fantastic, with pupils, staff and families cheering competitors on every step of the way.

A special congratulations must go to three pupils who etched their names into the King’s St Alban’s record books by breaking existing school records:

  • Adam C – 80m Race: 11.25 seconds
  • Tiegan W – 400m Race: 1 minute 26.32 seconds
  • Theo J – 200m Race: 35.19 seconds

These outstanding performances were a highlight of an already memorable day.

After a full day of competition, effort and House spirit, Thomas House were crowned the overall winners of Prep Sports Day 2026. Congratulations to all members of Thomas House on their achievement.

Most importantly, well done to every pupil who took part. The determination, resilience, sportsmanship and encouragement shown throughout the day embodied everything that makes sport at King’s St Alban’s so special.

Finally, thank you to all the family members who joined us to support the children. Your encouragement helped create a wonderful atmosphere and made the day even more memorable for everyone involved.
