Weekly round up: Spring Term Week 6.

Ably assisted by Annie, Mrs Kilbey began today’s assembly with a body scan meditation as part of our Children’s’ Mental Health Week activities.  At KSA we work hard to look after our children’s mental health every day, but it was very good to take the opportunity to do this as a whole school.

Reception:

  • Theo earned a Kindness Award and Ben was the class Super Star.

Year 1:

  • This week’s Super Star Award went to Hibah, and Archie received an Independence Award.

Year 2:

  • A certificate for Perseverance went to Max and Julietta is the Super Star for this week.
  • A huge round of applause for Daisy, who played a piano solo called Jinx.

Year 3:

  • Millie and Kasvika were congratulated on their excellent work in RE this week.
  • Greta and Edith have successfully auditioned for Worcester Cathedral’s Choir. Well done both of you!

Year 4:

  • The children have been learning about the Romans in history and this week Mrs Lewis set the challenge to write a letter applying to join the Roman army.  Well done to Crispin, Ben, Sophia, Izzy, Rosie, Archie, Charlotte and Albert, who all received a Head Teacher’s award for their super work.

Year 5:

  • Mrs Beauchamp was delighted with the hard work Alice, Francis, Humphreys, Aelwen, Ana and Sam have put into their English this week.
  • Rory, Martha and Shreya were congratulated on their proofreading and editing skills.
  • ‘Hero’ handwriting certificates were awarded to Laura, Alice, Helena, Ruqayyah, Charlotte, Rory, Martha and Sienna.
  • Well done to Jacob on winning a high jump competition.
  • As part of our Children’s Mental Health Week activities, the children made posters to show “What Helps my Well-being” in AFP.  Well done to Martha, Ruqayyah, Alice, Beth, Aelwen, Karla, Emily and Evie.

Year 6:

  • In art, the children are working on their pieces for our Creative ConneXions display later this term.  Arthur, Georgia, Tia, Erin and Ivan showed us their excellent coral reef pictures and Emily, Penny, Eshal and Evie proudly showed their pictures inspired by jungles.
  • The children are learning about climate change in humanities, and Georgina, Ace, Jack, Conor and Erin were congratulated on their excellent work on Mount Fuji.
  • Well done to Ivan, who came first in a high jump competition.
  • In science, the children used a burning candle to practise their observational skills.  Well done in particular to Georgina, Harry and Ivan, who all produced some excellent work.
