Year 6 Science: Exploring the Building Blocks of Life
This week, Year 6 pupils explored the fascinating question: ‘What are the building blocks required for the human body?’ Building on their discovery that cells are the smallest building blocks for all living things, the children embarked on an exciting journey of research and discovery.
Using various resources, including iPads, the library, and scientific dictionaries, the pupils delved deeper into the topic. Their curiosity grew as they explored each stage of their learning, posing their own questions and eagerly sharing their findings.
The outcome was impressive, with each child producing a detailed piece of work that demonstrated their growing scientific understanding and knowledge. It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm and engagement as they proudly presented their findings to their peers.
This activity not only deepened their understanding of the key concepts but also fostered independence and critical thinking. It was a joy to see the children taking such pride in their work and becoming more confident in their ability to learn and explore the world around them.
