Year 3 church visits

Over the last two weeks, Year 3 have visited two different churches.  On Friday 9th February, they visited St. Peter's Baptist Church, a very modern church, having been built about 10 years ago.  They were surprised that there were no stained glass windows or ornate decorations. Pupils had lots of fun when Amy, the Minister for Youth, taught them a song and showed them the 'swimming pool', otherwise known as the Bapistry!

Today they visited St. John-in-Bedwardine Anglican Church where they were greeted by Ruth Reeves (who used to work at St. Alban’s).  In contrast to St. Peter’s Baptish Church, there were many decorations and symbols for the children to study.  They thought the stained glass window was beautiful and they went on a hunt to see how many crosses they could count inside the church.  Ruth was very impressed that the children knew how to spell ‘altar’ correctly and she commented on their impeccable behaviour and manners.
