King's St Alban's
14 December
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a trip to the pantomime….
This morning, all of the Pre-Prep children, bounced on board the bus bound for the Malvern Theatre. As is traditional at this time of year, the pupils were bursting with excitement, energy and enthusiasm to see the pantomime of Beauty and the Beast. The bus journey was fairly brief and in no time at all the children has arrived at the theatre.
Arriving at the theatre, the children were in for a treat, a sparkling fairy tale pantomime complete with a star-studded cast with a couple of familiar faces the children were sure to recognise from the television. The audience was transported to a cursed castle under a wicked spell cast by an evil enchantress joined by Belle, The Beast, Fairy Bon Bon, a larger-than-life Polly La Plonk and her somewhat cheeky son Louis La Plonk surely, they were in safe hands?! The children were on the edge of their seats as they waited to see if the wicked Hugo would be defeated and if Belle would fall in love with her captor – reassured that the Beast’s heart would be melted by Belle’s true beauty.
The children sat enraptured throughout the performance by the colourful costumes, lights and singing. After the show had finished and the final bows had been taken, we headed back to school. The bus was full of chatter, giggles and laughter; it is safe to say they had enjoyed the show.
Arriving back at school, the children tucked into their Christmas lunch – much needed by all after a fun-filled morning. It was a memorable morning, and everyone had a super time- oh no they didn’t! A fabulous way to round of a hugely busy and productive Autumn Term in the Pre-Prep at King’s St Alban’s. Merry Christmas everyone!
