King’s Choristers Mark a Busy and Joyful Easter
Easter has been a busy period for the choristers at King’s, which has seen them share the spirit of the season with those attending services at Worcester Cathedral.
Holy Week and Easter is perhaps the busiest time of year for the talented pupils – even more so than Christmas, with a number of important services in the space of just a few days with a of varied music to prepare in a short space of time.
The choristers were especially busy from Maundy Thursday through to Good Friday, with their hard work culminating in two joyful services on Easter Day.
The choristers have worked tirelessly throughout the period, giving their time and talent to support the life of the Cathedral. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and the way they represent both the Cathedral and our school community.
King’s is proud to continue its tradition as a Cathedral Choir School started by Henry VIII, currently educating nineteen probationers and choristers at King’s St Alban’s and the Senior School.
Alongside the adult lower voices, the choir maintains a demanding schedule of daily rehearsals and services, performing to a professional standard. In addition to Choral Evensong and regular Sunday services, the choir takes part in a varied programme of concerts and major occasions. During the summer term, the senior choristers also perform at the Three Choirs Festival, the oldest music festival in the world.
