Spring Fair: a sunny success!
It felt like summer had finally arrived as the sun shone down on the King’s Worcester School Gardens last Sunday for the King’s St Alban’s Spring Fair.
Aiming to bring together pupils, families and friends, the Spring Fair promised a fun-filled afternoon for all and there is no doubting that this was certainly delivered!
Children ran around, playing a host of traditional Spring Fair games, from Hook-a-Duck to Ping Pong and Guess the Name of the Sloth; there was something for everyone! Children never tired of the bouncy castles, disco dome or surf simulator; from where do they get all of that energy? Some managed to sit still for a few moments to have their faces painted in an array of Disney characters, monsters and butterflies!
The ever-popular ice-cream man kept the children cooled and energised, whilst the adults enjoyed an array of refreshments provided by the Coffee Van; if that wasn’t enough, everyone could fill up on a number of different burgers from the barbeque and for dessert, no summer event would be complete without strawberries and cream!
The event culminated in a raffle, which included a number of fabulous prizes for Pre-Prep and Prep children as well as adults; we are hugely grateful to the wider King’s Community who donated such fabulous prizes. And to our winners: enjoy! The winners were:
Pre-Prep: Akshay (Year 2), Izzy (Reception) and Archie (Year 2)
Prep: Sienna (Year 6), Wilf (Year 6) and Daniel (Year 3)
Parents: Mrs Easton, Mrs Rew and Mrs Sargeant.
We are delighted that the event was such a success, raising funds of more than £1,000 to be ploughed back into King’s St Alban’s. Thank you to everyone who joined the event and to the enormous number of volunteers who enabled the King’s St Alban’s Parent Social Group Spring Fair to be such a success – we look forward to seeing you all again at next year’s event.
