KSA 100,000 Metres Swim Challenge: A Week of Incredible Achievements!

This week has been nothing short of inspiring as our pupils from Reception to Year 6 have come together to tackle the ambitious KSA 100,000 Metres Swim Challenge!

Starting bright and early on Monday morning, our ‘Early Morning Swim Group’ set the tone with their commitment and enthusiasm, covering an impressive 9,650 metres before school even started. Throughout the week, the excitement grew as each year group took their turn in the pool. Year 6 made waves on Monday afternoon, showing incredible determination as every swimmer met or exceeded their targets, nearly doubling their year group’s total goal. A special mention goes to Harry D, Ariya, and Yiefi, who each swam an extraordinary 100 lengths! With Year 6 contributing a whopping 63,200 metres, the momentum was unstoppable.

On Tuesday, it was Year 5’s turn, and they didn’t disappoint. Inspired by their peers’ efforts, they brought energy, teamwork, and positivity to the challenge, achieving an incredible 19,175 metres in the morning alone! In the afternoon, some of our youngest swimmers, Reception and Year 2, joined the fun. Their excitement and enthusiasm were infectious as they completed their targets with a mix of swimming, float races, and seahorse-style swimming! Reception added 1,608 metres, while Year 2 contributed 2,160 metres to the total.

The excitement was palpable on Thursday as Year 1 took to the pool, bursting with energy and determination. Every pupil rose to the occasion, meeting or even surpassing their individual targets. Together, they swam an incredible 3,900 metres, kicking off the final stretch of the KSA 100,000 Metres Swim Challenge in style. Following Year 1 it was time for the final two year groups to take the plunge, swimming in support of the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK). With the target so close, the pressure was on, but these pupils were determined to not only reach the goal but to beat it. Once in the water, there was no stopping them.

Here’s how the final afternoon unfolded:

  • Year 1: Swam a fantastic 3,900 metres, setting the tone for the afternoon.
  • Year 3: Followed up with an impressive 5,655 metres, demonstrating focus and determination.
  • Year 4: Delivered an incredible final push, swimming a staggering 12,125 metres!

These efforts brought our class swim total to an astounding 117,473 Metres, far exceeding our original 100,000 Metres goal.

This challenge has been a true whole-school effort, with staff and pupils alike contributing during additional swim slots before and after school to boost our total even further and we are proud to announce our total covered is a staggering 150,500 Metres which equals to 6020 Lengths!

The enthusiasm, dedication, and teamwork displayed by everyone involved have been nothing short of extraordinary. We couldn’t be prouder of our pupils and staff for their remarkable achievements in this challenge. Thank you to all family members for your incredible support — it’s been an inspiring journey from start to finish!
