IAPS Success for U11 Netballers

On Monday, our U11 netball team set off on an exciting journey to Fareham, Hampshire, to compete in the Small Schools IAPS Netball Tournament. With a bright and early start at 5:45 am, the girls arrived at school full of energy, ready to take on the challenge ahead.

The tournament featured 16 teams, none of whom we had played before, adding an element of unpredictability and excitement. The day kicked off with a round-robin group stage, where our team made a flawless start, winning all their matches and securing a strong position in the knockout rounds. In the quarter-finals, we faced the host school, West Hill Park, in a hard-fought match. The girls showed fantastic determination, securing a 5-2 victory to move into the semi-finals against Aldro School. By this stage, fatigue was setting in, but their focus and resilience never wavered, and they continued their unbeaten streak to book their place in the final.

The final saw us take on Yateley, a team we had already defeated in the group stage. However, they came back stronger, delivering their best performance when it mattered most. Despite a valiant effort, our team narrowly missed out on the top spot.

Every player had standout moments throughout the tournament, showcasing skill, teamwork, and perseverance. Finishing as runners-up in such a competitive tournament is a remarkable achievement, and the girls should be incredibly proud of their performance and success.

Well done, team!
