A Colourful Celebration of European Languages and a Sweet Support for Macmillan

King’s St Alban’s was a burst of colour today as pupils came dressed in outfits representing different European countries, creating a wonderfully vibrant start to the day! Our celebrations for European Day of Languages were perfectly combined with the Macmillan Coffee Morning, and the icing on the cake (literally!) was our Great European Bake Off.

Yesterday, Head of Foundation, Mr Charles, took on the deliciously difficult task of judging the amazing entries from our talented bakers. Today, he returned to announce the winners in Celebration Assembly, with pupils eagerly waiting to hear the results:

  • Florrie N – First-time Star Baker Award

  • Charlie T – Most Creative European Cake

  • Archie M – KSA Star Baker

  • Cerys J – Best European-Themed Cake

  • India C – KSA Showstopper

  • Max C – Most Colourful Cake

Congratulations to all of our bakers, your skill, imagination, and effort were truly impressive! A huge thank you also goes to everyone who entered, donated cakes, and helped make this a memorable event for our community.

It was wonderful to bring these celebrations together. The pupils’ creations were shared at our Coffee & Cake Morning, raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, and later enjoyed by pupils at break, spreading joy and a little sweetness throughout the school. We are delighted to share that, so far, a total of £375.06 has been raised, and further donations are very welcome here: JustGiving – Macmillan.

Today was more than just a celebration of languages and baking, it was a demonstration of creativity, generosity, and community spirit at King’s St Alban’s. Seeing pupils come together, dressed in colours from across Europe, sharing their amazing baked creations, and supporting a wonderful cause made for a truly unforgettable day. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making it such a success!
