Year 4 Explore Moving and Growing
This term, Year 4 have been learning all about “Moving and Growing” in Science. As part of their topic, the children have explored the important role of the human skeleton and discovered how it supports, protects, and helps our bodies move.
They have been learning to identify and name key bones in the body, including the skull, spine, rib cage, pelvis, humerus, and femur. To help them remember the names and locations of the bones, the children have also been learning a fun and catchy song — a fantastic way to reinforce their knowledge!
To bring their learning to life, the class worked together on a practical activity where they carefully drew around one of their classmates to create a life-sized outline. They then applied their understanding by drawing and labelling the bones in the correct positions.
The children thoroughly enjoyed this hands-on activity and demonstrated excellent teamwork and scientific understanding. Well done, Year 4!
