Celebrations Abound in First Assembly of the Summer Term

It was fantastic to see everyone again after a lovely Easter break, as we get ready for a very busy and exciting summer term.

Our assembly started with a wonderful performance on the trumpet from Isaac, who played The Bare Necessities.

We then applauded children who had gained awards last term.

In chess, Archie G was awarded a medal for third place in Year 3, and Alexander S-C third place in Year 4.

Mr Stigant presented two sports awards to children who weren’t at last term’s assembly; most improved player in Year 4 was awarded to Alexander S-C and player of the season to Frank M.

Mr Butt also announced the new Prefects and Head of School for this term; congratulations to all those selected.

We also congratulated the Tenner Challenge teams and learnt the incredible total raised!

We all enjoyed singing our hymn, ‘Shout for Joy’, while Charles H started his Head of School duties by reading the prayer.

Congratulations to Finlay R, who received a medal for taking part in the Anglo-Welsh rugby tournament recently.

Golden Bunnies

Following last term’s Easter Egg Hunt, Mr Butt awarded prizes to the children who had discovered the golden bunnies. It is very exciting to hear there is still one to be found, who will stay in its hiding place until it’s discovered!
