Year 5 Investigate How Sound Travels
Year 5 have been exploring how sound travels through different materials as part of their Science learning.
The children searched around the school to find a variety of materials to test, using tuning forks to observe how vibrations travel through each one. They listened carefully to how the sound changed, considering both how long it lasted and how clear it was when travelling through different types of matter.
This hands-on investigation encouraged the pupils to think scientifically, make observations, and compare results. It was a fantastic practical lesson, with the children showing great curiosity and enthusiasm as they developed their understanding of how sound travels.
