A Special Week in Reception

It has been a truly exciting and memorable week in Reception as our chicks hatched over the weekend and were waiting in the incubator to greet the pupils on Monday morning! There was great excitement and wonder as the children met the newest members of the classroom for the very first time.

Throughout the week, pupils have loved learning how to care for the chicks, handling them gently and giving them plenty of cuddles. They have also enjoyed getting to know each chick’s personality and choosing some wonderful names, including Shadow, Sparkles, and Sonic!

The chicks will remain in the classroom until next week, when they will return to the farm. It has been a fantastic hands-on learning experience and a lovely opportunity for pupils to develop their understanding of caring for animals.
