A Wonderful Afternoon of Music at Our Informal Concert
King’s St Alban’s chapel was filled with music once again on Tuesday afternoon, as Pre-Prep and Prep School pupils and their parents gathered for our Informal Concert. As ever, the standard of performance was incredibly high, and it was clear that everyone had worked hard to prepare their pieces.
Barney (Y1) got us off to a wonderful start with his performance of Little People. The rest of the concert was a real feast, with a wide variety of instruments, from guitar and cornet to violin, voice, saxophone and piano. The variety of styles of music ensured there was something for everyone, as we enjoyed comedy songs such as The Ostrich (Maddie – Y5 and Olivia – Y1) alongside pop songs(Song 2 – Max C, Y5), jazz (Priceless– Max M, Y5), and classical pieces such Spooky Wood Hollow (Ben W, Y4).
It was lovely to be able to welcome Ben W(Y4) and Alice (Y2), to the stage for their debut performances at Informal Concerts. Well done, both of you – you played beautifully!
There was a real family feel to the concert as we had lots of siblings performing. It was a particular joy to welcome back old KSA pupils, Will and Sam P, who provided the backing vocals for Ben P(Y4). Appearing at ‘The Perkins 3’, they gave us a beautiful rendition of Ben by Michael Jackson.
Finally, congratulations to everyone who took part in the concert. You all played brilliantly, and this was a lovely way to end the day. We are already looking forward to the final concert in this year’s series, which will take place in June.
