Creative Design and Technology Skills in Year 3

Year 3 pupils have been busy developing their practical Design and Technology skills through an exciting marble run project.

Pupils began by carefully designing their own marble runs, thinking creatively about how to make their structures both functional and fun. Each design was completely unique, with pupils adding their own imaginative ideas and problem-solving skills to create individual pathways and features for their marbles to travel through.

They then brought their ideas to life by measuring and cutting wood using hand saws before assembling their marble runs with glue, hammers, and nails. Throughout the project, pupils demonstrated fantastic focus, perseverance, and teamwork while learning how to safely use a range of tools and materials.

It has been wonderful to see their confidence and practical skills grow as they worked through each stage of the process, and the finished marble runs were incredibly impressive. A fantastic example of creativity, individuality, and hands-on learning, well done, Year 3!
