Hot Weather, Cool Learning

This week, we have been finding lots of creative ways to stay cool while continuing to enjoy learning during the hot weather.

Many classes took their lessons outdoors, making the most of the shade beneath the trees and the refreshing breeze. Learning outside provided a calm and comfortable environment, and the children loved the opportunity to work in the fresh air.

To help everyone stay active while avoiding the hottest conditions, Games lessons were swapped for swimming sessions. The children thoroughly enjoyed cooling off in the pool, a perfect way to exercise safely during the heatwave.

Year 5 also found an inventive way to stay comfortable during their science lesson by placing their feet in trays of cool water while they worked. This simple but effective idea helped to regulate their body temperature, allowing them to stay focused and engaged with their practical investigations despite the soaring temperatures.

A special thank you goes to KSA PSG, who kindly treated every child to a refreshing ice lolly. The surprise was greatly appreciated and brought plenty of smiles across the school.

Throughout the week, staff encouraged regular water breaks, time in the shade and plenty of opportunities to stay hydrated, ensuring that everyone remained safe and comfortable while making the most of the beautiful weather.

Despite the soaring temperatures, it has been wonderful to see the children adapting so well and continuing to learn, play and have fun.
