Year 2 Embark on a Dragon Adventure

Year 2 have had a fantastically fiery dragon-filled week! In English, the children enjoyed exploring Tell Me a Dragon by Jackie Morris, admiring the spectacular illustrations and discovering the many different types of dragons brought to life throughout the book. Inspired by the story, the children imagined their own dragons and brainstormed some wonderfully creative similes to describe them.

They then used their ideas to write their own dragon simile poems, including some fantastic descriptions such as, “My dragon has eyes as shiny as the glimmering stars.” Their imaginative poems are now proudly displayed on our Year 2 wall for everyone to enjoy.

The creativity continued as the children designed and made their very own dragon hatching eggs, carefully following step-by-step instructions. There were some wonderfully imaginative designs, and we think you will agree that they look fantastic!

It has been wonderful to see Year 2 letting their imaginations soar this week. We wonder what dragon adventures they will discover next!
