Year 6 Explore the French-Speaking World

Year 6 have been broadening their horizons in French as they explored the fascinating world of French-speaking countries and cities from around the globe. Working in groups, the children researched their assigned cities, discovering more about their geography, culture, traditions, landmarks, food and way of life.

They then used their research to create some fantastic posters and presentations, which they proudly shared with the rest of their classes. It was wonderful to see the children presenting their discoveries with confidence and enthusiasm, while developing their speaking, listening and presentation skills along the way.

From Europe and Africa to Canada and beyond, the children discovered just how diverse the French-speaking world is. Their research provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate different cultures and develop their curiosity and understanding of the wider world. There were plenty of fascinating discoveries along the way, who knew that Québécois enjoy maple syrup on their chips?!

Well done, Year 6, on your fantastic research, creative posters and confident presentations!
