A Creative First Week in Year 5

The children in 5J have settled into the new school year wonderfully, returning from their summer holidays refreshed, enthusiastic and eager to learn. They have embraced their new routines with confidence and have already demonstrated a fantastic attitude towards their learning.

One of the highlights of the week has been their creative writing. Turning the traditional ‘What I Did During My Summer Holidays’ theme on its head, the children were challenged to write imaginative poems about what they ‘didn’t’ do over the summer! They rose to the challenge brilliantly, producing some wonderfully creative and humorous poems that showcased their imagination, clever word choices and fantastic sense of humour.

It has been a busy and enjoyable week in 5J, and we have been so impressed by the children’s enthusiasm, creativity and positive approach.
