A Fantastic Afternoon of Racing at the Warwick 25s Gala

On Tuesday, our U10 and U11 swimmers travelled to Warwick to take part in the exciting Warwick 25s Gala. With several strong schools competing, it was always going to be a challenging afternoon, but our pupils rose to the occasion superbly, showcasing determination, teamwork and true King’s St Alban’s spirit from start to finish.

The atmosphere was electric from the opening race. Each event brought its own excitement, with our swimmers giving their all in the pool and cheering each other on from the sidelines. It was particularly inspiring to see how they maintained their focus and composure against tough opposition, demonstrating great technique, sportsmanship and resilience throughout.

There were some great individual swims, alongside some brilliantly coordinated team relay performances. Every race reflected the swimmers’ hard work in lessons and training, and their progress and growing confidence were clear to see.

A number of standout individual performances deserve special mention. Millie W produced a fantastic swim in the 25m breaststroke, finishing 2nd, and followed this up with an impressive 3rd place in the 100m IM. Lillianna showed excellent technique and determination, taking 2nd place in both the 25m butterfly and the 100m Individual Medley. Bertie W also performed brilliantly, matching Lillianna’s results with 2nd place finishes in both the 25m butterfly and the 100m Individual Medley. All three of these swimmers displayed superb streamlining and great technical control in their strokes.

It was also a fantastic opportunity to visit a new venue and compete against new schools, giving our swimmers valuable experience. A huge well done to all of our U10 and U11 swimmers for their effort, energy and enthusiasm.
