A Festive Finale: KSA’s Christmas Informal Concert Shines Bright
Our Christmas Informal Concert is now a long-standing tradition at KSA, bringing our 2025 concert season to festive close. ‘Heart-warming’, ‘Fabulous’ and ‘Cosy’, were just some of the comments from our large and supportive audience following Tuesday’s wonderful event.
Christmas favourites were in abundance, with songs such as ‘Frosty the Snowman’ (Guitar Group), ‘Jingle Bells’ (Norah – Y1 and Theo – Y1) and ‘Little Donkey’ (Baxter – Y1), making a traditional appearance alongside more unusual, but still popular songs such as the beautiful Ukranian melody, ‘Carol of the Bells’ (Max – Y5) and ‘Feliz Navidad’ (Savannah – Y5). Bringing our concert to a suitably festive close, ‘White Christmas’ sung by brothers Bertie(Y5) and Geoffy (Y3) sent everyone home with a warm glow.
The eclectic programme included lots of non-seasonal music too, including Maddie (Y5) giving a spirited performance of ‘Les Poissons’ and a hauntingly beautiful ‘Für Elise’ from Daisy (Y5) to name but a few. Our singers pulled out all the stops as well, with two lively, fully choreographed numbers from the film ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’, which had the audience tapping their feet and clapping along.
It was wonderful to welcome some ex – KSA pupils. Leo, Lily, Shreya and Sam were all Informal Concert regulars while at KSA, and it was lovely to welcome them back to support their younger siblings. It was wonderful to hear Shreya accompanying Akshay(Y4) in his performance of ‘King of the Fairies’. It was a particular pleasure to welcome Adrien Rosza (OV) to the audience. A committed musician while at KSA, Adrien’s new musical ‘The Bitter Pill’ received its first performance at the Camden Festival Fringe earlier this year and will shortly make its West End debut. You never know where a King’s St Alban’s musical education will take you!
From the West End to first performances, many congratulations must go to our ‘first-timers’ – those who were stepping onto the Informal Concert stage for the first time. Norah (Y1), Charlie (Y2), Archie (Y4) and Jack (Y5) all made their Informal Concert debut, playing with great panache and confidence. Welcome to the Informal Concert family!
Finally, a very big ‘thank you’ to all the young musicians who entertained us so beautifully. What a fabulous end to the year. You have really got us in the mood for Christmas!
