U8 Netball vs. RGS – Mrs Clark

On Tuesday, we had a fantastic afternoon of Bee Netball with RGS. The girls bonded quickly, mixing well and showing great teamwork throughout the games. As the matches progressed, their confidence and skills grew, making for some exciting play. To wrap up the session, we ended on a high with a fun shooting game, Golden Child, which everyone enjoyed. A great afternoon of netball for all involved!

U9 Netball v RGS The Grange – Miss Jordan

What a wonderful afternoon for netball. The sunshine was shining and the girls were excited to meet our friendly neighbours in a Stingers Match (5 a side). Amber was in charge of the rotations and did a sterling job at each quarter, explaining to the children where they had to move to. Maddie was excellent with her moving up and down the court and Elodie managed to pop a couple of goals in near the end to make it a really exciting conclusion. The final score was 5 all so a draw. Well done all, a really lovely afternoon with lots of excellent netball played.

Wednesday 19th March U10 and U11 Netball v RGS – Mrs Hand

It was a beautiful, sunny day as our Year 5 and 6 netball teams took to the court for a highly anticipated match against RGS. The day showcased some superb netball across all teams, with competitive play and excellent sportsmanship on display.

The B team played a closely contested match, but their resilience and skill saw them come out on top with a 10-3 victory. They played with speed, precision, and excellent team spirit. Sophia was awarded the Opposition Player of the Match.

The C team dominated their match, securing a convincing win. The defence was particularly solid, with lots of turnovers and effective marking. In attack, the team was quick to move the ball down the court, creating numerous shooting opportunities. Phoebe was awarded Opposition Player of the Match.

Finally, the D team had a challenging match, but they showed great determination throughout. They kept their focus and never gave up. Millie was awarded the Opposition Player of the Match.

Overall, it was a fantastic day for King’s St Alban’s, with great performances from all teams. The players demonstrated excellent skill and sportsmanship.

U11 v RGS The Grange – Mr Jenkinson

A group of nine determined Year 6 boys from St. Alban’s travelled to RGS The Grange on Wednesday (19th) to take part in what turned out to be a fantastic game of football. The match got off to a tough start for St. Alban’s as they found themselves 2-0 down within the first five minutes. However, rather than letting their heads drop, the boys showed incredible resolve and battled hard to get back into the game. Their efforts paid off when Freddy latched onto a through ball and scored to make it 2-1, breathing new life into the match.

The St. Alban’s boys showed excellent teamwork and never gave up. They created several more chances to equalise but were unlucky not to get the ball in the back of RGS The Grange’s net. Harry, once again, played brilliantly in goal, keeping his team in the game with some key saves. Ben J and Arlo were rock-solid in defence, ensuring that RGS The Grange’s attacking efforts were kept at bay. In midfield, Henry, Archie, Oscar, and Charles worked tirelessly, creating chances and breaking up play. Freddy and Will made things happen in attack, putting pressure on the opposition throughout the match.

In the second half, St. Alban’s dominated much of the play. The team continued to press forward and were probably the better side for large portions of the game. However, despite their improved performance, they were unable to convert their chances and add to their goal tally.

Unfortunately, as the match neared its conclusion, RGS The Grange scored a late goal, making the final score 3-1. While the result didn’t reflect the closeness of the game, it was clear that St. Alban’s had fought hard and played well throughout. Although King’s St Alban’s ultimately lost, this match was quite possibly their best team performance of the term. The boys showed great resilience, teamwork, and skill, and they should be incredibly proud of their efforts. Congratulations to all the players, and a big thank you to the parents who came along to support the team.

U11 v RGS The Grange – Mr Rowley

The U11Bs delivered an exciting and spirited performance against RGS The Grange, showcasing teamwork, creativity, and a love for the game. Ben F was a standout with his brilliant vision and precise passing, setting up numerous attacking opportunities. Leo J led the charge upfront with relentless attacking play along with Luca, always posing a threat to the opposition’s defence and scoring 3 goals as a team. Throughout the match, Jake K, Uriah G, and Brody S worked tirelessly, linking up well and supporting both defence and attack. A special mention goes to Jackson B, who, along with Uriah, Brody, and Jake, sportingly volunteered to play for RGS The Grange, reflecting the team’s spirit of fairness and camaraderie. The match was a testament to teamwork and enjoyment, with every player contributing to a fun and creative afternoon of football.

U10 v RGS The Grange – Mr Hooman

On Wednesday afternoon, the KSA U10 football team faced RGS The Grange in one of the last games of the term. The team started strong, playing good football and moving the ball around well. Despite having several chances to take the lead, they couldn’t find the back of the opposition’s net. Unfortunately, KSA conceded a goal from a corner, putting them behind. However, this setback only motivated the team to step up their game. Ben’s strike from outside the box, one of the goals of the term, nestled in the corner of the net to level the score. Ben continued his impressive performance with another fabulous strike, putting the KSA team in the lead.

Nell and Thea both defended extremely well, and Henry pulled off a number of fabulous saves to keep the KSA team in front. Unfortunately, with seconds on the clock, KSA conceded a goal, resulting in a draw.

Despite the draw, the team played exceptionally well and deserved more from the game. The focus is always on performance, and the team demonstrated their skill and determination. Well done to the KSA U10 football team!

A special mention to Henry I, who played in his last fixture for the school. Henry has been incredible in all sports during his time at King’s St Alban’s and the progress he has made over the years has been impressive. We all wish you the best of luck!

Thursday 20th March U9/8 Swimming Gala – Miss Woodger

On Thursday, we hosted another hugely successful swimming gala for Years 3 and 4. With only one visiting team, RGS The Grange, one might have expected a quieter event. However, the atmosphere was far from subdued. The spectators raised the roof, offering incredible support to all the children involved. The energy in the air was palpable, and the children channelled their nervousness into some excellent performances.

Most of the races were incredibly close, with the lead changing hands multiple times. In the end, RGS The Grange emerged victorious, winning by just 3 points. A huge thank you to all the children for their participation and sportsmanship.
