A Week of Colour, Creativity and Imagination
This week, our school has been bursting with colour and creativity as pupils across the year groups took part in exciting art activities linked to their Creative Connexions projects.
In Year 3, pupils created striking abstract paintings inspired by The Greatest Showman. Exploring the world of the circus, they captured the movement, excitement and drama of performing artists through bold colours, expressive brushstrokes and dynamic shapes. Pupils experimented with ways to show motion and emotion on the page, producing some truly eye-catching pieces full of life and energy.
Meanwhile, Year 4 were busy painting magical Fly Agaric toadstools to be used in their witches’ cauldron potion displays. Inspired by the musical Wicked, pupils carefully mixed colours and added fine details to bring their enchanting designs to life. These imaginative creations are set to become a wonderful part of their dramatic and creative storytelling.
In Year 6, pupils explored sponge painting techniques using acrylic paints to create stunning images of the Earth as part of their Star Wars Creative Connexions project. By layering colours and textures, they achieved impressive effects that captured the beauty of our planet.
It has been fantastic to see such enthusiasm, creativity and skill across the school. We are incredibly proud of the artwork produced and can’t wait to see these final pieces on display in the JMT Gallery, where they will be shared and celebrated by our whole school community. A truly inspiring week of art and imagination! 🎨✨
