An Inspiring Start to KSA’s Musical Year: Our First Informal Concert

On Tuesday this week, we held the first Informal concert of the term in our wonderful chapel. As this was my first foray, as Director of Music and Performance at KSA, I wasn’t sure quite what to expect. However, on seeing the sign-up sheet, I quickly realised that this is a popular and well attended event in the KSA calendar! I am very keen to continue this tradition and hopefully build more performance opportunities into the terms ahead.

I was so impressed with the enthusiasm and talent, and the musical performances we heard were outstanding. We had a fabulous mix of musical genres from George Michael’s Careless Whisper, with the fabulous saxophone riff, to classical piano pieces and songs from musical theatre and pop!

A special thank you to those pupils who were delayed due to sporting commitments, but who came in at the end to close our wonderful concert. Thank you, too, to all the parents who came to support their children and grandchildren – it is a wonderful way to unwind and enjoy the music on offer at KSA.

I look forward to seeing you at our next concert and at our remembrance service in November.
