Bringing the Desert to Life in Year 2

Year 2 have concluded their topic on Deserts in a creative and collaborative way by making their own desert scene. Pupils moved between both Year 2 classes, taking part in a range of activities that brought their learning to life.

They created cacti out of plasticine, drew camels on wooden plaques, illustrated nomads and desert animals, and wrote fact cards about different creatures that live in desert environments. Each activity added another piece to the final display, and pupils loved seeing how their individual contributions came together.

The children really enjoyed working collaboratively, sharing ideas and knowledge, and supporting one another throughout the project. The finished desert scene looks fantastic and is a brilliant celebration of everything they have learned in this topic.
