Autumn Term Chess Report From Mr Berry

It’s been an enjoyable and competitive term for the King’s Hawford lunchtime Chess Club. The Year 3 children have shown rapid improvement and have all done very well. In the Year 4 tournament there was a close finish in a very exciting competition. Finn M-P and Lyra H were unlucky to finish just outside the medal positions. In Year 5 Harry C and Rhys M also did well, but finished outside the first 3 positions. Congratulations to Michelle Z (Year 6) and Sofia E (Year 5) who won all of their games. The full list of prize winners are: Year 3 winners Freddie W & Bella P (equal first). Year 4 winners Charles N & Josiah K-E (equal first), third place Evangeline P. Year 5 winner Sofia E, runner up Isabella W, third place Christopher H-S. Year 6 winner Michelle Z, runner up Jack M, third place Max D. Well done to all of the children who take part in Chess Club!

Goodbye Mrs Marshall-Walker

We finished today’s assembly by saying a very fond farewell to Mrs Marshall-Walker who leaves us to take up the position of Deputy Head at Tettenhall College. Mrs Marshall-Walker has been an integral part of the King’s Hawford Community for 13 years and will be sorely missed. We wish her the very best.
