Celebrating a week of hard work

We were treated to a wonderful start to today’s Celebration Assembly, with Hattie D performing He’s a Pirate on her flute.

Staying on a musical note, Mr Butt kicked off proceedings by congratulating all of the performers from last night’s Informal Concert, praising them all for their bravery and enthusiasm. Mr Butt then reflected on a busy and successful week of sport, during which our pupils all represented the School with such distinction. The U9 boys had taken part in a rugby festival on home soil, watched and cheered on by Mr Butt. The U11 hockey team had an excellent run at the Malvern The Downs Tournament, finishing second overall to clinch silver medals. The U11 boys’ rugby team were also praised for their endeavours at the IAPS Rugby, having travelled to Ratcliffe College, where they performed at the top level, finishing the tournament in third place. Mr Butt was delighted to award the team with IAPS pins. Moving from the top to grassroots, Alex V was presented with a “Player of the Match” medal for his performances with his U7 team: KCRFC.

Headmaster Awards:

Years Three and Four have impressed with some accurate and independent homework. Tom H completed his maths homework to a very high standard and Daisy E produced some fantastic descriptive writing. For a fantastic use of prepositions, Bruce W received a HMA. Jasper P has undertaken some excellent science work, producing a poster depicting different states of matter; Mr Butt was particularly impressed with Jasper’s lovely presentation.

Year Two had made a brilliant start to this half term, inspired by their fantastic topic super starter. Following the discovery of a crashed rocket in Forest School, pupils were challenged to record and recount accurately in writing what they had seen. Well done to Maddie P, Alice H, Alex V, Jessica S, Isla H and Rupert C.

Daisy E and Ruby K, along with George A, Izzy W and Austin R, worked in groups to produce a poster about Aztecs. The groups researched and documented their findings in fact-filled posters.
