Celebrating Chinese New Year in Year 1
Year 1 have been learning all about Chinese New Year this week, discovering more about the traditions, celebrations and customs associated with this special festival. The children showed great curiosity and enthusiasm as they explored how Chinese New Year is celebrated around the world.
As this year marks the Year of the Horse, pupils brought their learning into their art lesson by creating some fantastic horse collages. Using bright, bold colours, they designed eye-catching red and yellow manes and added lots of creative detail to their work.
The finished pieces look wonderful and really reflect both the children’s creativity and their growing understanding of this important celebration. A great week of learning for Year 1.
