Celebrating Success Autumn Term Week 11
Today’s Celebration Assembly started with a reflection on everything we have done this term at King’s St Alban’s to raise money for charity. Events have included a cake sale for Children in Need, Read for Good, a Macmillan Coffee Morning, Project Gambia, poppy sales for the Royal British Legion, Christmas Jumper Day for the NSPCC, a Reverse Advent Calendar for the Trussell Trust and our Carol Service, raising funds for the British Heart Foundation.
Super Star Awards:
Well done to Winston (1C) and Kitty (Rec), who were awarded certificates for Focus. Hibah received a certificate for her independence. This week’s Pre-Prep Superstars were Tiegan (2F), Lakshmi (1C) and Barney (Rec).
Year 1:
Well done to Theo, Ivan, Geoffy and Lakshmi for completing some excellent fact files on owls.
Year 3:
Pupils have been working hard on developing their vocab. This has been done by creating a Christmas thesaurus: a Christmasaurus! All of the children enjoyed showing their work in assembly.
Year 4:
In maths, pupils have been creating pictures using 4D shapes: well done to Nell, Theo, Pip, Zach, Cerys, and Hannah for their super creations.
6HM:
Amelie, Lily G, Henry, Helene, Harry, Sam, Ana, Raqqayah and Lottie have impressed with their neat and careful flow diagrams showing how flooding happens.
Times Tables Awards:
This week pupils have achieved two Bronze Awards and nine Silver Awards.
Bebas Challenge:
Age 6-8 Category: Well done to Maddie and Bertis who both achieved a Distinction. Max achieved the highest mark in his age group at KSA.
Age 8-10 Category: The following all achieved distinctions: George, Maddie, Tilly, Ivy, Archie and Charlotte. Pip scored the highest mark in her age group at KSA.
Age 10-12 Category: Well done to George, Martha, Laura, Wilf, Arslen, Tom, Harry, Evie R, Lily G, Joel, Sebastian and Florence who all achieved a Distinction. Charlotte C was the best in school.
Bebas Gold Award, for children who score in the 10% in the country: Marta S, Charlotte, Tom and Joel. All four pupils are through to the next round.
Year 5:
Mrs Etherington’s maths set have shown resilience and perseverance in tackling difficult problem solving.
Congratulations go to Emily, Madie T, Izzy R and Shreya on their recent French tests.
Years 3 and 4:
All pupils were congratulated for their singing at the Christmas Fayre.
