Celebrating Success Spring Term Week 1
We started the new year with a bang at our first Celebration Assembly of the Spring Term! There were lots of individuals and groups to recognise as our new Head, Mr Hawker took to the stage to announce the many successes.
Super Star Awards
In Reception, Barney M received a Super Star Award for setting a perfect example, and Fearne W was congratulated on working hard in numbers work, exploring different ways of making five. Theo J received a Super Star Award for listening carefully to instructions.
For her excellent focus in independent writing, Coco F was presented with a Super Star Award.
In Year Two, Akshay V won a Super Star Award for always working well with others in group work.
Archie H won an Award too, for settling back into his learning routines quickly and always smiling!
Year One
Mrs Chatterton was delighted with Year One’s work in science, particularly with their Venn Diagrams of carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores. She also praised them for their fantastic listening and teamwork in swimming.
Year Three
Mrs Atkinson has been very impressed with how well everyone has settled quickly into school mode this week.
Year Four
Year Four had the task of designing an alien and Ben D, Edith H, Thea H, Alban R, Pip T, and Romi T were all congratulated upon their great use of adjectives.
Year Five
Mrs Lewis said “Well Done” to 5J on their 1970s rock dance for Creative Connexions, which completely “nailed it”! She also gave a super shout-out to Phoebe E for all her help in Late Room. Tilly E, Emily F, Charlotte H, Ben J, and Maddie T are all Handwriting Heroes, having achieved the first level qualification.
Individual Success
Harry D, Maddie E, Savannah P, Seb S, and Bertie W have all received Bronze Timetable Awards and Amber J, Daisy L, Iris L, Aaron M, Julietta M, George N, Daniel R, Rook T, and Henrietta W L all received Silver Awards.
We were also delighted to hear about the amazing achievement that Seb S has made in the UK Maths Challenge, a very prestigious national competition. In the age 10 to 12 section, he scored 120 points and a Distinction Certificate. Well done, Seb!
Outside school, Helena C is the Worcestershire U11 Girls’ Individual Cross-Country Champion and was presented with the cup from the Worcestershire Athletics Association to rapturous applause.
Music Awards
A sensational sixteen pupils took their ABRSM music exams at the end of last term and received their certificates this morning.
Ariya R, Daniel R, Martha S and Seb S all received their certificates for the Initial Grade on piano.
At Grade One, Maddie T received her Merit Certificate for the violin and Cerys J, Julietta M, and Sienna Y all achieved a Merit on the piano. Iris achieved Grade One singing with Distinction.
Daisy L achieved Grade Two on the piano and William B and Francis C were awarded with their Merit Certificates for singing and violin respectively.
Alice W achieved Grade Three singing with Merit and Emily S and Wilf both received Grade Four Certificates, Emily for the flute and Wilf for the trumpet.
Rounding things off, we congratulated George B upon his magnificent achievement of Grade Five piano with Merit.
